History
Humble Beginnings
Stubberfield Group was founded by Steve Stubberfield in 1983. Steve is from Swan Hill and worked in a number of areas of NSW before settling back in Victoria and eventually in Echuca. From 1983 to 1985 he was basically a sole operator, but in 1985 he joined forces with Colin Price who eventually moved on.
In 1989 the Practice grew yet again as Ian Sinnett joined Stubberfield Group as a Partner. It was also in this year that the Practice became a Member of Count Wealth Accountants, an Australian Financial Services Licensee & started offering clients Financial Planning Services. With the growing need of clients for finance, Campaspe Financial Services, the finance broking arm of the business, was set up in a slightly different format from 1991.
In 1990 Alan Darbyshire had his own Accounting Practice operating out of Rochester. This grew very rapidly and he took the opportunity to merge with Stubberfield Group in the early 1990’s. Alan left the Practice in 1995 (and has since returned as an employee). In 1991 Colin Grant was employed for six months and then offered a Partnership in the Practice.
More Experience Added to the Team
In 1998 Mike Kiely joined Stubberfield Partners after 25 years of private practice in the Echuca/Moama area. He was keen to become part of a team of specialists in GST advice and returns and has many clients in the farming community. June one year later, Roger Teasdale also joined the team. He brought over 32 years experience to the Practice with expertise in primary production, small business management and accounting/GST advice.
Double Growth in Just Over Three Years
Between 1998 and 2001, Stubberfield Group saw tremendous growth with a doubling of income in just over three years. As a result, the number of staff grew from around 12 to 24. During that time, three more Partners joined the firm; Rohan Stone, Andrew Dicketts and Todd Charnas.
In February 2003, Stuberfield Group opened its expanded offices. This move and expansion coincided with the merger of Campaspe Financial Services with Charter's & Co Financial Planners. There are now 10 Financial Planners and a Finance Broker within this area of the group with 4 support staff.
Move into Bendigo
In 2004, the Financial Advising and Broking arm of the Business joined forces with Leo Treble and Associates in Short Street, Kangaroo Flat. A full range of accounting/taxation, financial planning and Finance Broking services.
Today
Today there are over 35 staff and a database of over 8000 clients who are serviced out of the Echuca, Rochester and Bendigo offices.
Who We Service
Stubberfield Group has a client base from a wide geographic area in Victoria and along parts of the Murray River in NSW. There are also clients from as far as Melbourne and Mildura.
